Okay.
so this is an album with photos of a PIECE IN PROGRESS.
There is a story:
A friend of mine (Alisha Ison) bought the piece in the photo with the description, ONE from an estate sale/auction thingy.
-Cradles board of some kind covered in linen with a plastic fresco if you will in the middle. It was an AP (artist's proof). It was not in perfect condition. It is flocked and had some marring and discolorations. The signature appeared to be that of a DONALD KATZ (THANK you to my friend, Rick Parker, for deciphering).
I looked up Donald Katz who was indeed known to have made some pieces like this. He (I think) called it a type of printmaking...but I think Plastic fresco is more accurate.
There are a bunch of Donald Katz' out there.
I have not gotten his permission to alter his art with my own....Hence the term/title called UNAuthorized collaboration.
I used the 'print' as a mold and there is some plaster of paris on this piece.
This is and will be a mixed media piece.
after it is finished, i will put it up for sale.
the profits will be divided into three...
a portion for my friend, Alisha, who provided the piece to me to begin with and She requested that I alter it (she is a friend AND a fan. yay!)
a portion will go to me. duh.
and a portion will be saved for Donald Katz....
